The FloTrac system is a reliable solution for advanced hemodynamic monitoring, automatically calculating vital flow parameters every 20 seconds.
Background and Challenges
We executed this redesign by creating a substantially more positive user experience for the minimally-invasive FloTrac system. A trusted solution for advanced hemodynamic monitoring that provides automatic calculation of key flow parameters every 20 seconds. This redesign empowers healthcare professionals with continuous clarity, enabling proactive decision support to effectively manage hemodynamic instability and ensure optimal patient perfusion.
We carried out a comprehensive redesign effort that involved changes to color, materials, and finish for the Edwards FloTrac. This transformation was aimed at boosting perceived value and fostering a significantly more positive user experience. Through close collaboration between our industrial designers and engineers, we carefully selected top-tier materials that also adhered to medical standards, ultimately elevating consumer confidence and enhancing product appreciation.
Nectar took on the critical role of designing for packaging and assembly of the Flotrac which is a critical aspect of the medical product development. It involves carefully considering every detail, from the choice of materials and the device’s dimensions to the ease of assembly and packaging efficiency. This meticulous approach not only streamlines manufacturing and distribution processes but also contributes to the overall quality and reliability of the device and ultimately benefiting patients and healthcare professionals.
